Oxford University and AstraZeneca resume clinical trials of Covid-19 vaccine – Abroad – News

The trials resumed after obtaining the consent of the British Medicines Agency, according to a statement issued by the University of Oxford on Saturday.

The resumption of trials is “good news for everyone,” British Health Minister Mats Hankok has posted on Twitter.

For the same reasons, testing of the vaccine was suspended for several days in July.

The vaccine has so far been injected into 18,000 volunteers worldwide, including the UK, US, Brazil and South Africa, according to Oxford University.

AstraZeneca is one of nine companies whose potential Covid-19 vaccines are in the Phase 3 trials. It is one of the vaccines reserved for the European Commission.

According to AstraZeneca, the vaccine could be ready later this year or early next year.

A vaccine against Covid-10 has been developed and approved for use in Russia, but world experts say that this vaccine, called “Sputnik V”, has not been tested enough.
