Oxford Covid-19 Vaccine Trial Even Cause Mysterious Disease: Okezone Lifestyle

LOTS countries and institutions are competing to conduct research to find a vaccine for the Covid-19 corona virus. However, research and testing is not easy. In fact, many Covid-19 vaccine trials had to be stopped because of the side effects it caused.

Recently, even the vaccine trials Oxford and AstraZeneca conducted in mid-September had to be stopped. The discontinuation of the Covid-19 vaccine trial was decided following reports of unexplained disease in test subjects. These conditions raise concerns about vaccine safety and dampen expectations of a quick fix for the pandemic.

According to a HuffPost report, researchers conducting Johnson and Johnson’s Covid-19 vaccine trials on 60,000 volunteers around the world began stopping trials on Monday, October 12, 2020.

“We have temporarily suspended further dosing of all clinical trials of our Covid-19 vaccine candidate, due to an unexplained disease in study participants,” according to a company statement.

Furthermore, a more detailed statement will be explained after the researchers disclose the condition of the trial participants who were thoroughly evaluated. “We are committed to providing transparent updates during the clinical development process of our vaccine candidate,” he added.
