Owondault Berre opens the 4th edition of Cabef – Journal du Gabon

The vice president launched the work of this edition of the Central Business Energy Forum this Wednesday, October 23, 2024, in Libreville.

At the opening of the 4th edition of Cabef, the vice president announced that this is a crucial event for the future of the Central African sub-region which is at a turning point in its history. He called on Central African heads of state to come together for a special presidential summit dedicated to energy security in the sub-region. This summit will allow them to discuss the effectiveness of the initial CAPS summary. A crucial step to immediately launch the detailed studies and the funding necessary for the realization of this integrated project, which is expected to be completed for 2030.

In fact, it is a meeting platform for the Central African sub-region, with the aim of developing the regional energy industry and establishing public-private relations. Participants will meet under the theme natural gas as the key to Central Africa’s industrialization and economic acceleration, through effective sub-regional institutional integration”. Emphasis will be placed on the need for effective sub-regional institutional integration to maximize the use and management of natural gas.

Note that the event was held in Chad in 2023, in Cameroon in 2022 and in Congo-Brazzaville in 2021.
