Involved in a sordid story of murder against his will, the owner of the company where the remains of Santiago Gaona’s body were found turns to the court to find his machinery which was used to shred the victim’s corpse.

Samuel Gauvin, owner of L’ABC De L’Arbre, filed a motion in court to recover the shredder that was seized during the investigation.
According to the request, there are significant financial losses for the pruning company, which has seen its activities greatly disrupted by the affair.
Joints par The newspaper, Mr. Gauvin and his lawyer did not wish to comment on the procedure, which is, it should be noted, a rather rare request. The request will be heard early next week at the Quebec courthouse, Radio-Canada first reported.
First degree murder
Let us remember that this whole story began on September 17, when shredded and calcined human remains were found on the grounds of the Quebec company.
Three individuals were quickly arrested in Kahnawake territory in connection with the terrible discovery.
François Bouchard, 31, has since been charged with the first degree murder of the victim, Santiago Gaona.
The two other people arrested, Cassandra Major and Jean-Philippe Lamontagne, are accused of complicity after the fact and indignity to a corpse.
According to the first elements of the investigation, the murder of Santiago Gaona could have been committed in the residence of François Bouchard, in Contrecœur. The house had also been combed through by experts from the Judicial Sciences and Legal Medicine Laboratory in the days following the tragedy.
Application for release
If the three accused remain detained for the moment, Cassandra Major will return to court on Friday.
The woman intends to file a request for provisional release before the Superior Court, in order to be released during the proceedings.
