The previous owner had sold the house on 1 July. The owner left with the northern sun and left the male alone in the house. When the new residents tried to enter their home, the starving tomcat shot out past their legs. The new owners called the animal ambulance.

The animal was taken to an emergency clinic, where he was given an IV and his blood was tested. “Finn was very skinny when he was rescued from the house, but appeared to be otherwise healthy,” Animal Protection reports on Instagram. How that comes about is a mystery.
Animal protection workers suspect that there was still some food in the house. But this supply did run out, because there was also paper in his stool. Presumably the tomcat ingested it when he couldn’t find food anymore.
The animal is still upset from everything he has been through, but once he has recovered, the Animal Protection will look for a new owner.
