The spruce arrived at the square this week from Oneonta in upstate New York. “I thought it was such a heartwarming Christmas story that there was a surprise in the Christmas tree,” said Ellen Kalish of the wildlife sanctuary where the owl was taken. The owl hadn’t eaten anything for three days, so it was fed immediately. The shelter also gave the owl an appropriate name: Rockefeller. After examination by a veterinarian, Rockefeller will be released back into the wild.
