OVO Continues to Strengthen User Personal Data Security

Data Privacy Officer (DPO) Lead OVO Ruben Sumigar said that OVO always strives to update its privacy policy to stay in line with technological developments and applicable laws and regulations. The goal is to respect the rights of its users.

“OVO believes that the security of users’ personal data is very important and is our priority,” said Ruben, in a statement, Monday (18/10).

With multi-layered security system, he continued, the security of OVO users’ personal data can be guaranteed. Thus, OVO can continue to provide the best, safe, and reliable service for all users.

“OVO is always committed to protecting every user’s personal data. Every OVO application is equipped with features security code and 2-step verification every time the user will enter the OVO application,” he added.

In addition to continuing to educate and appeal to users to protect personal data, OVO has prepared a number of technical devices that are layered to prevent the leakage of users’ personal data, namely Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Tools.

To date, OVO has improved fraud prevention measures, including the presence of a team Information Security (InfoSec) which has a function to prevent and mitigate the leakage of user’s personal data.

OVO has also exercised the trust established by applicable laws and regulations by placing each user’s personal data in a data center (data centre) which is located in Indonesia.

OVO will continue to strengthen the mechanism for securing users’ personal data. As mandated in the Minister of Communication and Informatics Regulation Number 20 of 2016 concerning Personal Data Protection in Electronic Systems and PBI Number 22/20/PBI/2020 concerning BI Consumer Protection, OVO has Data Privacy Officer (DPO) internally.

Going forward, OVO DPO is preparing a number of educational materials that can be used on a number of social media platforms to increase user awareness of the importance of protecting their personal data.
