Blizzard announced yesterday that Overwatch will soon finally get support for cross-play. This means that people can soon play it with each other even if they play it on different platforms.
The support applies to Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and Windows so everyone can join in and play. For it to work, however, it is required that you have a Battle.net account which you then have to connect to your console account.
However, cross-play will not fully apply to Competitive. That game mode will instead be split between computer player and console player.
