The test phase begins at the end of April, and anyone who is interested can register to get the chance to play. Registration takes place via Overwatch’s websiteand is only available for PC players.

As the developer says, it is the multiplayer part that is in focus. The beta test primarily offers matches with the new team size of five players. Furthermore, you can test the new hero Sojourn, four new maps, a new mode called Push and major changes to several characters.

In addition, Blizzard promises that the beta test will include a ping system – something completely new for the Overwatch experience.

Separates single player and multiplayer

Otherwise, Blizzard could announce a comprehensive change for the development of Overwatch 2. The game will be divided into two, so that the single player part and the multiplayer part come separately.

In a video update, game manager Aaron Keller says that the goal is to get the multiplayer part out faster. At the same time, the developer will continue work on the single-player campaign, but whether the strategy change means that this will be postponed did not emerge from Keller’s statement.

Blizzard also has a bunch of Warcraft news on the way.
