Each of the previous three matches between these two teams had ended with a one-goal gap, but Zibanejad and the Rangers have dramatically reversed that trend.
Zibanejad counted three times in addition to amassing three assists, while Pavel Buchnevich scored two goals and two assists for New York (12-12-4), which won a second win in its last six games (2-3-1). Philadelphia (14-10-3) suffers a fifth loss in seven games (2-5-0). The Guardian Brian Elliott allowed five goals on 13 shots before giving way to Carter Hart in the second period. Hart stopped 12 of 16 shots he faced in relief.
The Rangers took a 2-0 lead in the first period through Lemieux’s second goal at 7:05 and Panarin’s seventh at 2:47 PM.
Buchnevich scored a brace in two minutes early in the second period. He hit the mark at 1:38, then 3:38 to score his ninth and tenth goals of the year. Trouba followed up with his first at 7:30, then Zibanejad took matters into his own hands.

He only needed a little over ten minutes to pull off his fifth career hat trick. He got the ball rolling on the shorthand with his fourth goal of the season at 8:27, then followed with his fifth on a power play at 14:29. Finally, he completed his natural hat trick with his sixth goal at 18:37.
Chytil increased the score to 9-0 with his fourth goal at 21 seconds before the end of the second period.
The defenders Philippe Myers and Travis Sanheim had a very difficult night at the Philadelphia Blue Line. They each finished the game with a minus-6 differential.
Canucks 3, Sénateurs 2
Adam Gaudette scored the deciding shootout goal and the Vancouver Canucks defeated the Ottawa Senators 3-2 at the Canadian Tire Center.
Brock Boeser and Bo Horvat counted in regulation time for Vancouver (15-16-2), which won a third consecutive victory and a sixth in its last seven outings (6-1-0). Horvat also added an assist to his record, while the keeper Thatcher Demko made 30 saves in addition to being perfect in the shootout. Demko has allowed the opponent two goals or less in 10 of his last 13 starts.
Ryan Dzingel et Josh Norris responded for Ottawa (10-20-3), which has won only one of its last six games (1-3-2). The Guardian Joey Ok blocked 19 pucks, but an injury suffered in the third period forced him to give way to Filip Gustavsson. The latter made eight stops in relief.
The Canucks took a 2-0 lead in the first period thanks to Boeser’s 15th goal at 2:29 and Horvat’s 13th at 8:26.

Dzingel put the Senators on the board scoring his sixth goal of the season, his fourth in eight games since Ottawa acquired the Carolina Hurricanes at 3:00 into the second period.
Norris helped the locals tie it 2-2 with his seventh goal of the year using a left circle wrist shot.
Extra time was not a master, so the two teams went through a shootout to determine the outcome of the meeting. Gaudette was the only one to hit the target in the shootout during the fourth round.
The attacker Tyler Motte was back in the Canucks roster after missing 17 games with injury. He took two shots on goal in 20:42 of play.

Oilers 7, Flames 3
Connor McDavid provided a three-point performance to help the Edmonton Oilers defeat the Calgary Flames 7-3 at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
McDavid has scored once and collected two assists, while Jesse Puljujarvi, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Darnell Nurse each scored a goal and an assist for Edmonton (19-13-0), which ended a two-game losing streak with a fifth victory in its last seven games (5-2-0). Dominik kahun, Alex Chiasson and Zack Kassian also found the back of the net, while Tyson Barrie collected four assists and Leon draisaitl got three. The Guardian Mike Smith made 30 stops.
Elias Lindholm, Mikael Backlund and Johnny Gaudreau fought back for Calgary (14-13-3), which lost for the first time in four games. Matthew Tkachuk amassed two helpers, while the goalkeeper Jacob Markstrom rejected 23 shots.
It was 2-0 for the Oilers after a period of play thanks to goals from Nugent-Hopkins, his 11th at 4:39, and Puljujarvi, his eighth during a power play at 7:22.

The Oilers’ power play got them two more goals early in the third period. McDavid first scored his 18th on a power play at 1:50, then Chiasson put on his sixth under the same circumstances at 3:44. Nurse, with her ninth goal at 5:55, and Kassian, with her second at 8:38, made it 7-1.
The Flames scored twice in a lost cause late in the third period, Backlund’s sixth goal at 14:47 and Gaudreau’s 12th on the power play at 16:04.
McDavid now has 16 points (four goals, 12 assists) in his last seven games, while Draisaitl has 15 (seven goals, eight assists) in eight games.
Blues 1, Kings 4
Drew Doughty, Anze Kopitar and Trevor Moore each scored a goal and an assist in the Los Angeles Kings’ 4-1 win over the St. Louis Blues at Staples Center.
Carl Grundstrom scored the other Los Angeles goal (12-10-6), which ended a two-game losing streak. Jaret Anderson-Dolan got two assists, while in front of the cage, Calvin Petersen made 19 saves.
Mike Hoffman was the only scorer for St. Louis (14-10-5), who lost in a fifth straight game (0-4-1). The Guardian Jordan Binnington stopped 20 pucks.
The Kings forged a 3-0 lead in the first period. Doughty first took advantage of a power play to score his seventh goal of the season at 3:21. Grundstrom followed with his fourth at 4:19, then Moore put the finishing touches to that push with his third goal at 14:11.

Hoffman scored the Blues scoring his eighth goal of the year at 4:29 pm of the second period.
Kopitar drove the last nail into the Blues’ coffin, scoring his eighth goal in an empty net at 6:20 pm.
The Kings were perfect on the penalty kill for a fifth straight game.
The attacker Tyler Bozak of the Blues was back in the game after a 21-game absence with an upper-body injury. He dealt two hits and he was used for 2:30 pm.
Sharks 4, Golden Knights 5
Shea Theodore had three points to help the Golden Knights come from behind to win 5-4 over the San Jose Sharks at T-Mobile Arena.
Theodore scored one goal and had two assists for Vegas (20-6-1), which signs a fourth consecutive victory. Cody Glass, Nicolas Hague, Ryan Reaves and Alec Martinez also made the ropes vibrate, while Tomas Nosek amassed two audiences. Goalkeeper Marc-André Fleury stopped 29 shots.
Evander Kane scored one goal and two assists, while Mario Ferraro got a goal and an assist for San Jose (11-13-3), who suffered a second straight setback. Kevin labanc and Matt Nieto also counted and Tomas Hertl collected two assists. In front of the net, Devan Dubnyk blocked 32 shots.
Theodore gave the Golden Knights a 1-0 lead with his fifth goal of the season at 3:45 of the opening period.
The Sharks, however, fought back with three consecutive goals in the second period to retreat to the locker room ahead 3-1 after 40 minutes of play. Nieto started the ball rolling with his fifth goal at 6:21, then Ferraro followed with his first of the l ‘year at 7:57. Labanc then scored his eighth goal at 3:07 pm.

The Golden Knights kicked off their rebound on the power play when Glass scored his fourth goal of the season at 6:43 of the third period to close the lead to 3-2. Hague went on to tie it 3-3 with his third goal at 10:03, then Reaves revived Vegas ahead 4-3 with his first goal of the year at 12:27. Martinez scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal on the power play at 2:46 PM.
Kane closed the gap to 5-4 with his 12th goal of the year during a power play at 15:54. He has collected seven points (four goals, three assists) in his last five games.
