Not only Club Brugge had to work on Tuesday evening on the first day of the Champions League. Many top teams also came into action. View the overview here.

Simple win for Juventus

Juventus took on AA Gent-killer Dynamo Kiev. The Old Lady had to do without Cristiano Ronaldo because CR7 is still infected with the corona virus. He also missed the league match against Crotone (1-1) last weekend. But even without Ronaldo, Juve could win against Dynamo. After half time, Alvaro Morata scored the 0-1 from close range from the rebound after a shot by Dejan Kulusevski. In the 84th minute, the Spaniard was there again. This time he made the 0-2 on the instructions of Cuadrado.

Juventus has been hiring Morata from Atlético Madrid since this summer. He also scored against Crotone in Serie A. So, for the time being, certainly a good asset to the Italian club.

Dortmund-Belgians painfully down against Lazio

Lazio kept the three points in-house after a 3-1 win against Borussia Dortmund. After only six minutes, Witsel and Meunier, who were both on the field for the entire match, had to chase. Thorgan Hazard was still in the rag basket at Dortmund. Immobile (ex-Dortmund) put the fast 1-0 on the scoreboard. Fifteen minutes later, the situation looked even worse for Dortmund. Luiz Felipe scored the 2-0 from a corner. In the second half Wesley Hoedt (ex-Antwerp) was actually allowed to replace goalscorer Felipe and celebrate Lazio’s victory. Haaland eased the pain for Meunier and Witsel by kicking the 2-1 in hard, but the two Red Devils did not get much better. Substitute Akpa Akpro made it 3-1 on a pass from Immobile. Lazio and Club Brugge thus come together in the lead in group F.

Man You pull the sheet in top poster

The top poster of the first match day in the group stage of the Champions League was Paris Saint-Germain-Manchester United in group H. Bruno Fernandes gave the visitors the lead from the penalty spot after half an hour. The Portuguese’s penalty had to be kicked in twice because Keylor Navas came off his line too quickly on the first attempt. In the second half Antony Martial headed a corner from Neymar unluckily into his own goal. The game seemed to be heading for a draw, but in the absolute end Marcus Rashford still took care of the 1-2.

Barça with confidence towards Clasico

Ronald Koeman has not missed his Champions League debut as FC Barcelona coach. The Catalans beat Hungarian Ferencvaros in group G 5-1. Lionel Messi, Ansu Fati and Philippe Coutinho gave the home team a comfortable 3-0 lead. Twenty minutes before the end, the visitors received a penalty after a foul by Gerard Pigue, who was sent off with a red card. Igor Kharatin converted the penalty. In the end, the very young Pedri and Ousmane Dembele still scored their goals.

European debut for Doku

In group E, Jérémy Doku made his European debut at Stade Rennais. The brand new Red Devil was allowed to come in by coach Stephan in a 1-1 score against Krasnodar from Russia. Scoring was no longer possible for the ex-Anderlecht attacker.

RB Leipzig does what it has to do against Basaksehir

RB Leipzig was still a semi-finalist at the champions ball last season and with Basaksehir at home was presented a very feasible card on the first day of the Champions League this season. Leipzig 2-0 after two goals from Angelino.
