This signing of an availability agreement was carried out at the end of last week with the Carrefour Market company in Mauriac, represented by Logan Corbeau, also a volunteer firefighter, Bruno Faure, president of the Departmental Council and president of the Board of SDIS administration.
Allowing volunteer firefighters to accomplish their missions while carrying out a professional activity is to contribute to the continuity and quality of local rescue.

The agreement formalizes the rights and obligations of each of the parties. It makes it possible to organize the availability of the volunteer firefighter by taking care, in particular, to ensure his compatibility with the operating requirements of the company. In detail, by signing the provision agreement, the manager of Carrefour Market, Logan Corbeau, grants Ludovic Goetchebeur, volunteer sapper at the Mauriac fire and rescue center, for the operational, the delay at the hiring and the possibility of being on leave during the day with the agreement of his hierarchy; for training, five days of absence are granted. Regarding remuneration, the employer maintains the salary and salary benefits; he does not ask for subrogation. Currently, 115 availability agreements are in effect in the department, of which 16 were signed in 2022. They concern 255 volunteer firefighters.
The Mauriac fire and rescue center is placed under the authority of the center chief, Captain Hadrien Corriger, with Captain Pierre Ducros and Lieutenants Frédéric Delmas and Mathieu Delmas as assistants. The center has thirty-three volunteer firefighters and a professional firefighter (the head of the center) as well as half a professional position.
The intervention competence of the firefighters of Mauriac extends over nine municipalities: Arches, Chalvignac, Drugeac, Jaleyrac, Mauriac, Méallet, Salins, Sourniac and Le Vigean, for a population of just over 6,310 inhabitants.
In 2022, Mauriac firefighters went out 562 times: 422 people rescued, i.e. 75.1%; 31 crashes; 43 fires; 58 miscellaneous operations; 8 technological risks.
