President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law that legislatively fixes the automatic recording of violations of dimensional and weight control. Rada approved it in early June.

The law expands the powers of “Ukrtranssecurity” in terms of dimensional and weight control. The department has received the right to levy a toll for trucks that violate the overall and weight parameters in a judicial proceeding.
According to the document, the procedure for conducting raid checks (checks on the road) and the procedure for size and weight control are determined by the Cabinet.
“Ukrtransbezopasnost” in order to fulfill the tasks and functions assigned to it, has the right to receive information from state electronic information resources, including from the register of consignment notes.
Users (owners) of vehicles for exceeding the size and weight standards established by law, depending on the percentage of overload, will be punished with the following fines:
- up to 2% inclusive – in the amount of UAH 1,700;
- from 2% to 5% – in the amount of UAH 5100;
- from 5% to 10% – in the amount of 8500 hryvnia;
- from 10% to 20% – in the amount of UAH 17 thousand;
- from 20% to 30% – in the amount of 34 thousand hryvnia;
- more than 30% – in the amount of 51 thousand hryvnia.
