AvtoVAZ engine products are too primitive, low power and, as you understand, cars with “dead” power units are dangerous, not only when driving ​​on the highway, but even in city mode.

The question arises: what to do? How can we develop our own car industry if the country does not even produce the basics – an engine that is suitable for the time and the tasks? Well, this week the State Research Center of the Russian Federal State Unitary Enterprise “NAMI” showed that engineering is still present in the country, you just have to give it a way and finally start equipping at least the Sport versions of the one Lada Vesta and Lada with very powerful domestic Aura engines.

We are talking about the L4 PT-A made by NAMI, which is a 2.2-liter inline 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that develops a maximum power of 245 horsepower. From the user’s point of view, of course, we have half of the 4.4-liter V-8 cylinder engine from the same manufacturer, which is installed in the AURUS brand executive cars.

Unfortunately, we still have a prototype in front of us, and, given the history of the domestic car industry, it is likely that it will never go into production. Which, of course, is sad, because only such engines that are responsive and at the same time not very expensive to produce are very lacking in the domestic car industry.
