Independent Capelight Pictures announced a global UHD premiere on its social media channels on the last regular day of the “7 Days, 7 News” series. The action drama starring Sylvester Stallone “Over the Top” (USA 1987) by Menahem Golan is being released for the first time by Alive AG in 4K resolution and newly scanned Ultra HD Blu-ray including Dolby Vision in limited Steelbook and in one Mediabook edition including booklet and HD version onto the market. The feature film was previously released by Capelight Pictures with trailers and German and English audio in LPCM 2.0 on Blu-ray in a keep case and also in a media book. The 4K implementation will be released in April 2025. Further details are still pending.
Contents: Lincoln Hawk (S. Stallone) is a truck driver who earns extra money by arm wrestling. He has neglected his family so far, but when his wife becomes seriously ill, she asks him to bring their son Michael (D. Mendenhall) home from the military academy. However, her rich father Jason Cutler (R. Loggia) doesn’t think much of Lincoln and wants to prevent Michael from growing up with him at all costs. On their trip, the two get to know each other better and Michael learns that his grandfather has previously prevented contact between him and Lincoln. So he decides to live with his father. In order to secure his son and himself financially, Lincoln takes part in the World Arm Wrestling Championship in Las Vegas. (sw)

Capelight Pictures has confirmed that there will also be one at the same time 4K UHD als Upgrade Edition will appear in a cardboard sleeve. If you already own the Blu-ray Mediabook, this cost-effective product variant is used to replace the DVD included in the special edition with the Ultra HD Blu-ray and thus upgrade the product. The Upgrade Edition will only be available exclusively in the Capelight Pictures Shop.
