Over 9,800 Agricultural Holdings in Castilla y León Receive Subsidized Loans Totaling 409 Million Euros Amidst Drought Crisis: Government Support

A total of 9,810 owners of agricultural holdings in Castilla y León have seen their subsidized loans formalized to provide liquidity to the holdings and to be able to face the drought and whose value amounts to 409,507,770 million euros.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development contributes a maximum of 60 million euros for the interest subsidy of these loans after the agreement signed with eleven financial entities (Abanca, Banco Santander, BBVA, Caja Rural de Burgos, Caja Rural de Salamanca , Caja Rural de Soria, Caja Rural de Zamora, Cajamar, Caixabank, Ibercaja and Unicaja) to be able to carry out this measure to support the sector promoted by the Government of Castilla y León.

These amounts represent “a success of applications for said aid, whose deadline to formalize it ended on February 15, as both the number of applicants and the amounts increased with respect to the data of the last similar aid offered for the campaign 2019,” they point out from the Board.

Also, these 60 million euros contributed at most by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development for the interest subsidy on these loans represent a considerable increase compared to 2019, whose amount was 13 million euros.
