Over 500 Reports of Disruptions: Students Excluded Following Tribute to Murdered Teacher

More than 500 reports had been made for disruptions to the smooth running of tributes paid in all schools in France to honor the memory of Dominique Bernard, a teacher murdered in a school in Arras.

Questioned on BFMTV this Sunday evening, the Minister of National Education Gabriel Attal announced that among these reports, “il there are 183 students who will not return to school on November 6because they are excluded while waiting for their disciplinary council.”

“Of these 500 disturbances or protests, some were due to special gravitythat is to say threats against teachers, or the apology of terrorism”, explains the minister. “I asked the heads of establishments responsible for the students concerned that there be an exclusion.”

I fight for a school of respect for the rules“, affirms Gabriel Attal. “It is very important to assert rules but above all to enforce them: there are systematic reports to the public prosecutor, and disciplinary measures are taken.”

“I had been very clear before this time of tribute, and I had said that I would absolutely tolerate no dispute, no disruption for this tribute, which I remind you was a tribute for two teachers killed because they were teachersSamuel Paty and Dominique Bernard”. For Gabriel Attal, “it is totally expected and legitimate that there is a total firmness“.
