More than 50 employees, wearing signal vests, were sent to the private parking lot of the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint to storm the car of Maya Manolova and her team this afternoon, Izpravi.BG reported.
Earlier in the day, Manolova announced that she would go to the border checkpoint to show the private parking lot, the so-called “golden goal” for disinfection, during the inspection of which the NRA found BGN 32 million missing cash and the laboratory for inspection of fruits and vegetables at the entrance to the country.
From a live inclusion in Manolova’s Facebook profile, it can be seen that when her car approached the barrier of the parking lot, more than 50 employees suddenly rushed into it, dressed in reflective vests with aggressive shouts and objects of attack.
The unprovoked aggression is probably due to the disputes of the last few days between Manolova and politicians from the left spectrum regarding the abdication of the state from its control functions at the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint.
After the attempted attack failed, several black cars followed Manolova’s car to the Border Police parking lot.
In a second live video, Manolova shows her conversation with one of the drivers of the black cars, for whom it later became clear that a former police officer, appointed as a gardener in the parking lot, had been fired for corruption.
The employee is trying to persuade Manolova not to photograph the parking lot and not to continue the topic about it.
After the conversation, the video shows three black cars leaving the Border Police parking lot at speeding.
In the following video, Manolova shows the operation of a private laboratory on the territory of the border checkpoint, which controls pesticides in fruits and vegetables that enter Bulgaria from the southern border.
All the time, while Manolova was broadcasting live, she was photographed by an employee of the private laboratory, presented as such by a local representative of the Food Agency.
The employee apparently made recordings and sent them to third parties to track Manolova’s movements on the laboratory premises. She had previously received permission from the relevant authorities to photograph the laboratory and was accompanied by representatives of the Border Police.
It is clear from Manolova’s record that the testing of fruits and vegetables and the loading and unloading activities cost about BGN 850 per truck.
In her videos, Manolova points out that this is an inadmissible abdication of the state from the control activities, both in terms of traffic and in terms of disinfection and control of food products at the border.
When Manolova’s car entered Bulgarian territory, the same employees of the private parking lot had organized a blockade of the road, equipped with objects for attack.
Law enforcement intervened to prevent a repeat attack.
Manolova pointed out that after the formation of the new cabinet, the new Audit Commission will examine the contracts for private activities carried out at the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint and the observance of the public interest in concluding it.
We remind you that the contract for the “golden goal” was signed on the last day of the first GERB government with Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.
When Manolova tried to pay by bank transfer the disinfection fee of BGN 5 when entering from Turkey, such a transaction was refused, as the employee explained that only cash in BGN was accepted for all those entering the territory of Bulgaria.
According to the border police, on average more than 1,300 trucks pass through the “goal” per day, and their number varies.
