On X, the electricity supplier Elinett writes that the power cut affected their entire area.
This means that the residents of the municipalities of Aukra, Gjemnes, Hustadvika and Molde were without electricity for part of the night.
– POWER FAILURE! Statnett’s supply to our area has failed so that Elinett’s entire area is now without electricity. We are in dialogue with Statnett and we are working hard to find the fault and restore the power supply, they write in a message at 00:41.
In an e-mail to VG, Even Blakstad, who is the head of the department for customers and communications at Elinett, writes that around 32,800 electricity customers were affected by the error.
Around 01:15, around an hour after the power went out at 00:10, the fault was fixed, the company says.
– There are now just under 100 customers who are still without electricity, but this is from previous errors that have not been repaired, the company writes on X.

– This is the biggest outcome our company has experienced in recent times. We have never experienced before that everything falls out at the same time. I understand that people are worried, says Blakstad.
VG received several messages on the night of Sunday from several readers who said that Molde had been blacked out.
Operations manager Leif Arne Mork in the Møre and Romsdal police district confirmed to VG that they too received reports of the power outage.
– We have also received information from the Road Traffic Center that they have lost communication with some monitoring, so it may appear to be a relatively extensive power outage, he says.
