The summer heat does not subside immediately, and some parts of the country get hotter than others. If you are in southern Norway in the coming week, just find your swimwear and sunscreen.
Already from Monday, it has been reported around 25 degrees in Eastern Norway, and towards next weekend the degree can reach 30 degrees.
– For the coming week, there is a high-pressure ridge that will dominate the weather throughout southern Norway. It continues with a lot of nice and warm weather, says meteorologist in Storm, Lillian Bergheim.
However, on Tuesday a heavy rain shower is also expected in some places in Eastern Norway.
Can be tropical night
The meteorologist does not believe in tropical night at the beginning of the week, but with increasingly warmer air temperatures and warmer water in the sea, it could happen towards next weekend.
– To get a tropical night, you must often have had warm weather for a while, so the water also gets warm. When the sea is around 20 degrees, you do not get the same cooling, and that increases the probability of tropical nights, says Bergheim.
Towards next weekend, when 30 degrees Celsius has been reported in some places in Eastern Norway, the probability of tropical nights therefore increases. This means that the temperature stays above 20 degrees throughout the night.
Divided into west
Inland areas in western Norway can also expect temperatures of up to 30 degrees Celsius, while Trøndelag is close by with around 25 degrees towards the weekend.
On the west coast it will be a few degrees cooler, with a northern fresh breeze at the beginning of the week. The coast from Western Norway and in Trøndelag gets between 15 and 20 degrees. Otherwise, the heat is secured for the whole of southern Norway with ever higher temperatures throughout the week.
If, on the other hand, you want cooler weather, you have to look north.
Colder in the north
– For Northern Norway, it is not quite so idyllic. There will be more gray and a little rain, says Bergheim.
The temperatures are also significantly lower, and will be around 10-15 degrees the first part of the coming week. Troms and Finnmark will have longer periods of gales in the coastal areas.
But towards the end of the week, it seems that the northerners will also get a small taste of the high-pressure wave that Eastern Norway is enjoying next week.
– Then there will at least be a stay, and temperatures will rise slightly towards the second half of the coming week. It therefore looks more promising for Northern Norway’s part later in the week, says the meteorologist.
Regardless of the start of the week, the whole country can look forward to the weekend, as long as the forecast holds.
