More than 2,500 Indian nationals are stranded in Sudan as conflict between the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) continues. The crisis has resulted in hundreds of deaths and thousands of injuries, and one Indian national has been killed. Meenakshi Agrawal, whose husband is among those trapped, has tweeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union external affairs minister S Jaishankar urging them to bring all Indians back. PM Modi has chaired a high-level meeting to review the situation, during which he instructed officials to remain vigilant, closely monitor developments, prepare for contingency evacuation plans and extend all possible assistance to those in Sudan.
