The ‘Fai clic ao teu bocata’ program, part of the Xunta’s ‘Galicia sabe amar’ campaign, has taught about 20,000 minors to include seafood in their diet in the last two years.

As indicated by the Xunta in a statement, the Conselleira do Mar, Rosa Quintana, has visited the Trasmonte school on Tuesday, one of the four centers that make up the Colexio Rural Agrupado de Oroso, where she has highlighted the importance of “promoting among the children the consumption of sea products”, as well as “boosting the demand for fish and shellfish”.

The head of Mar has detailed that the campaign plans to reach “close to 10,000 schoolchildren from some 70 Galician centers for infant, primary and secondary education” this year.

In this way, he has pointed out that the activities “will extend beyond the school period”, since in summer “there will be workshops in the camps and other cultural activities”.

Thus, around 50 students from the Trasmonte school have tasted sandwiches made from canned fish and shellfish on Tuesday, while they have attended an informative talk on the benefits of consuming products from the and have participated in different games .
