Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, inflation, skyrocketing energy prices: the effects of this year’s major crises have affected and continue to affect many non-profit organizations. At this year’s traditional R+V Christmas fundraiser, the focus was on ‘tables’ for the institutions that welcome them, as they are particularly challenged by rising refugee numbers, inflation and by the increase in the number of people in need. A total of 181,700 euros was reached in the 2022 fundraising. A new record value, last year the result of the Christmas donation campaign was 136,000 euros.
Half of the donations from the workforce
The R+V FOUNDATION, in which R+V concentrates its social commitment, organizes the annual Christmas donation campaign. Half of the donation money comes from the R+V employee fundraising campaign throughout Germany. The other half is provided by the R+V Versicherung cooperative, which traditionally doubles every euro donated by its employees, even in this difficult year for the company. “Even in these difficult times, we expressly stand up for our social responsibility,” emphasizes Norbert Rollinger, CEO of R+V.
The action has been going on since 1994
The campaign has been running for two weeks during Advent since 1994. The money always goes to charities and initiatives that help disadvantaged people. Since it began, the fundraising campaign has raised more than €1,000,000 for a good cause.
