On October 24th, the Red Cross in Lannach honored over 100 blood donors for their commitment. Together they have given more than 13,000 blood donations, including several donors who donated over 200.

Commitment was excellent: each and every one of them had already made at least one donation
100 times blood for people in Styria. The busiest of them even more so
than 200 times.
116 donors collectively made 13,675 blood donations
As part of the ceremonial blood donor honor, a total of 116 people were recognized for their extraordinary willingness to save lives. These 116 donors collectively made 13,675 blood donations – that corresponds to a total of 6,837.5 liters of blood. For this outstanding effort, the blood donors were awarded gold medals of merit by the Red Cross Presidium. Five blood donors were particularly highlighted for their remarkable achievement of 175 donations. Three blood donors even reached the impressive mark of 200 blood donations.

Save lives together
The honors were given by Siegfried Stepwieser, President of the Styrian Red Crossas well as the Red Cross Vice Presidents Roland Antal, Otto Marl and Christian Rath handed over. President Stepwieser was grateful and deeply impressed by the life-saving commitment: “You all prove again and again that your hearts are in the right place: you as blood donors as well as our almost 300 volunteers who do all this in Styria make regions possible. I would like to thank you for this great commitment to the benefit of the Styrian population.”
True all-rounders: Volunteer blood donors working for the community
In addition to the committed blood donors, the event also focused on the valuable services of the volunteers and professional employees in the blood donation service. Special recognition went to three volunteers who not only made more than 100 blood donations themselves, but also worked as volunteer blood donation speakers. As speakers, they support the organization of blood donation campaigns and are therefore true all-rounders in life-saving operations.
Festive mood
As the evening’s moderator Oliver Zeisberger The appropriate setting for the festive occasion: he led the event with charm and enthusiasm. The guests were enchanted and thoroughly entertained with a magical show by the magician Christoph Kulmer. The event was accompanied by culinary delights from Culinarius Event-Catering from Mooskirchen and Johannes Lafer and his band provided the musical highlights of the evening.
