More than a thousand members of the TNI in two military agencies namely the Army Candidate School (Secapa AD) in Bandung City and the Cimahi City Military Police Education Center (Pusdikpom) are exposed to COVID-19.
In Secapa there were 1,262 cases in Secapa AD, 17 people were isolated in the hospital. While the rest, 1,245 cases are People Without Symptoms (OTG) ..
Whereas for Pusdikpom, there are 99 cases of OTG, consisting of 74 students and 25 organic personnel.
The West Java COVID-19 Task Force for the Acceleration of Countermeasures (GTPP West Java) is still investigating epidemiologically in terms of the source of transmission in the two military agencies.
“Until now we are still conducting studies. Friends in the field are still conducting studies of where this source actually is,” said GTPP West Java spokesman Berli Hamdani at Gedung Sate, Bandung City, Friday (10/7).
With this incident, Cimahi Mayor Ajay M Priatna requested that all military education centers in Cimahi City immediately swab test their personnel to avoid the spread of COVID-19.
“In Cimahi, there are a lot of Pusdik, from there we are worried about making a new cluster because dozens of Pusdikpom personnel are positive of COVID-19. We are coordinating with all Danpusdik to conduct swab tests in each pusdik,” Ajay said.
He hopes that there will be no new clusters other than Pusdikpom whose dozens of personnel have confirmed positive COVID-19.
“If the results are not in line with expectations, it could just be a new cluster, but hopefully it will not be like that,” he said.

Meanwhile, West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil Imbau residents did not panic. The reason is that military institutions are more ready to handle and discipline in quarantine people who are exposed to COVID-19.
“I called directly with the TNI Commander. This TNI has a more ready and more system. The mass testing is independent of the swab by the RSPAD. Then, it was understood and agreed that the TNI commander was also wary of other education centers, the media could also see the majority of OTG, only 17 who were treated from thousands of others, “he explained.
