Over 100 people donate blood at the district office

Many people took part in a blood donation campaign organized by the Nuremberg District Office earlier this week. Around 50 liters of blood were collected for the sick and injured.

At the beginning of the week, the Nuremberg district office invited citizens and its own staff to donate blood directly at the main building in Lauf, as reported in a press release. The campaign was successful, the BRK was able to collect around 50 liters, which are now available to sick and injured people.

In addition to many people from the office staff, a number of citizens also came, a total of over 100 people. Since approximately half a liter of blood is always taken during a blood donation, the blood donation team of the Bavarian Red Cross collected around 50 liters.

“I am delighted that so many people accepted our invitation and donated their blood. In the case of certain illnesses, major operations or serious accidents, it can make a crucial difference for other people if we take half an hour and have a small needle inserted into their arm,” says District Administrator Armin Kroder, who was also one of the donors.

The event was the result of an employee’s idea, which he had suggested as part of the ideas management and to whom we would like to express our sincere thanks. A big thank you also goes to the Health Working Group, Niels Herbert, Manuela Binker, Elfriede Gumann, Anja Wirkner and the junior staff who helped with the setup and dismantling, and of course to the BRK team.
