· More than 1 million services and actions for the benefit of students in Cancún
Cancún, QR, December 22, 2023.- “Education is fundamental in any transformation and guarantees that new generations have more opportunities to achieve their goals, to develop their full potential and aspire to a brighter future,” said the Municipal President of Benito Juárez, Ana Paty Peralta, when reporting on the actions to promote education, which the Benito Juárez government adds in 2023, a period in which more than one million 305 thousand 038 different services were brought to benefit of the students.
According to the Fourth Transformation, the First Municipal Authority highlighted that the purpose is to ensure and guarantee inclusive, equitable and quality education, so in 2023, 129,019 packages of school supplies were delivered, as well as 6,320 scholarships from the program. “Educational Quality and Promotion of Human Development”, with the firm objective of ensuring access to a decent education for all.
Likewise, Ana Paty Peralta stressed that one million 115,160 food assistance supports were also delivered to school-age girls and boys, contributing to reversing the trends and increasing numbers of problems of poor nutrition, of which, one million 097,790 were cold breakfast rations, for the benefit of 11,305 girls and boys from the schools enrolled in the program; while 17,370 servings of hot breakfasts reached 2,510 students from the schools enrolled in the program.
He added that with the Child Labor Prevention and Attention Program, 800 stimulus deliveries were made to education, food and health; 80 tours were carried out to identify girls, boys and adolescents in situations of work and/or child exploitation and 47 educational actions were carried out focused on the rights of girls, boys and adolescents of the “Network of Drivers of Transformation”, because the Profound change in public life is built with unity and vision towards the future.
He also said that in the Child Development Assistance Centers (CADI) 96 files were prepared to control the registration of girls and boys enrolled in these institutions, in addition 540 full-time school services were provided with educational, assistance, training, food and of health provided; 1,874 social, cultural and sports activities were carried out and 22,510 food rations were delivered to the girls and boys enrolled in the Child Development Assistance Centers.
Additionally, through the “Educating is for everyone” programs, activities to encourage and promote prevention and care for health and the environment were carried out to different schools, bringing together 22 events with 2,886 people participating. . Meanwhile, for “Living without harassment”, which foresees violence in secondary schools to strengthen values and generate an environment of culture of peace, 4,633 people were attended to in 25 presentations.
