A synthesis of studies was published on Tuesday, January 7, 2020. It has failed to find a link between the use of talc on the genitals and ovarian cancer. The new research clears up the remaining doubts about the existence of this link.

This concern about contamination of the talc was born in the 1970s. Studies then put forward a higher risk of Cancer in talc users who would be able to go back to ovary through the vagina and uterus according to suspicion.

Published in the magazine Jama, the results show that there is no “significant statistical association” between the declared use of talc on the genitals and the risk of cancer of the ovary. This is the largest analysis never done to date on the subject.
