In the second round, Schmetz’s team didn’t let anything go wrong, the game was more balanced than in the first round. This was not least thanks to Rodgau’s keeper Marco Rhein. Rodgau was able to get within five goals (26:31), but in the end the Krefeld team won comfortably with 37:29. “Of course it would have been nice if we could have extended our lead a little more. But the opponent can also play handball. We are very happy with the two points and the well-deserved win against Rodgau. Now we’re already looking towards the derby in Ratingen,” said playmaker Hülser after their fourth success this season. It was a convincing performance by HSG Krefeld Niederrhein, which, together with runner-up TuS Ferndorf, is the only team in the 3rd League South-West without losing points.
