Outings – Leisure | Nîmes: The Black Eyed Peas, tube machine in the arenas

The American group The Black Eyed Peas comes to ignite the arenas of Nîmes this evening. After two years of postponements due to the health crisis, the three singers are on tour all summer across France. The opportunity for Will.I.Am, Taboo and Apl.de.ap to come and defend their latest project Translation, released in 2020. This flagship group of the 2000s, active since 1995, had distinguished itself by its hip-hop/electro mix. But the strength of artists is above all international hits: I Gotta Feeling, Pump It, Boom Boom Pow, The Time, the Californian band marked an entire generation. The Scrapbook The E.N.D, released in 2009, had sold 11 million copies in just one year. In November 2011, after the world tour for the album The Beginning, with half-hearted success, the group announces a break of a few years. 2018 sees the return of the formation with a new album… without its flagship singer, Fergie. The American now devotes herself to her family life. An absence of size for the group, as the singer was the strength of the cult refrains. It is the Filipino artist J. Ray Soul who now replaces Fergie. Quite a challenge to take up… With Translation, their eighth album, the Black Eyed Peas return to more Latin sounds, one of their first influences. An album marked by the presence of big names like DJ Snake or Shakira. Between nostalgia and discovery, this concert in the arenas of Nîmes looks promising.
