This platform, located in the city center, has a capacity of 1,600 seats, in compliance with barrier gestures, the equivalent of the Théâtre de la Mer in normal times, said Mr. Commeinhes who presented this “plan B” alongside the president of the port of Sète, the former minister Jean-Claude Gayssot.

In 2020, the singular island had also adapted its cultural season by reconfiguring the Théâtre de la Mer, an exceptional cultural setting located on the shores of the Mediterranean, to host open-air cinema screenings and the festivals had organized concerts and events in the same format. reduced throughout the city.

Sète is due to celebrate the centenary of the birth of Georges Brassens in 2021 and is in the running to become the first French capital of culture in 2022.
