Outdoor games without physical contact – Teningen

. The corona pandemic restricts public life. Clubs are also affected. The Badische Zeitung therefore asks how the clubs have experienced the past few months and how they look to the future. Today: Robert Korb and the Spofunnis, the sports, fun and adventure club of SG Köndringen-Teningen.

»What effects does the corona pandemic have on club life?
One of the most difficult things for us was that the school and kindergarten cooperations were suspended. The Spofunnis also work for non-members, i.e. with kindergartens and schools. In the municipality of Teningen, we take on parts of the holiday program, i.e. reliable holiday care, and help shape all-day school care at the Theodor Frank School. Otherwise we mainly have open offers, with or without registration. Experiential educational camps, for example, are popular, as are the sports club, where young people can simply drop by. In a normal year we reach around 600 to 800 young people in this way. All of this had to be canceled in lockdown. At least we were able to offer day tours in summer instead of overnight camps.

How did the club react to the restrictions?

During the first lockdown on YouTube, we launched an online service where we offered the opportunity to participate. Now we have adapted and expanded it, met via conference software and played in closed groups or even instructed people to bake, for example for the Teningen senior citizens’ homes. We put the whole thing together with the Teningen Children’s and Youth Office. There is still a lot to look up on YouTube. Then we thought about what we could do with the time and resources and worked with the Emmendinger Tafel for four months and started initiatives with children and young people for the Teninger senior citizens’ facilities. And of course made Christmas presents. These offers were mostly financed by donations. We passed the money on to our trainers, who participated in the online offers.

How will club life go on?

Of course, everything has to take place outside and at a distance. Games without physical contact. We still got the concept from last summer. But we will use this opportunity. We will use every ray of sunshine. In the kindergartens we offer activities with school beginners, in the elementary schools we offer break games and sports. But of course that is only possible as long as politics allows it. Indoor activities will probably take a while. The trainers who are close to us have all stayed with us. We are now also in the process of bringing in new, young employees and training them with our own advanced training modules. We use the time.
