The French Center in Lebanon organizes the Ciné Caravane (Cinema Bitdur) every year in August, where free films are shown outdoors in several cities in Lebanon, in collaboration with the French institutions in these regions, cities and local associations.
The center announced, “This event aims to provide a time of culture, exchange, openness and coexistence. It also provides an opportunity for a unique cinematic experience on the big screen in places are not available to the public.”
He pointed out that since its launch in 2009, “Caravan Cinema” has shown almost 80 French and Lebanese films, 400 shows in more than 150 cities, and thousands of viewers across the country.
He said that this year’s “Caravan Cinema” will start on the first day of August in the city of Amioun, northern Lebanon, and will stop in 15 cities and will end on August 31 in the city of Jbaa Al – Shouf.
This summer, the program includes recent films, some of which are showing for the first time in Lebanon, such as: “Nicola’s Little Treasure,” “The Wolf and the Lion,” “Asterix and Obelix: Middle Empire,” “The Prince’s Journey,” “Divertimento,” and “Mia and the White Lion.” The films will be shown at eight o’clock in the afternoon, in French with Arabic subtitles.
