The new logo of a small school in Marietta, in the State of Georgia (United States), has been the subject of controversy for a few days. The reason ? Its uncanny resemblance to the eagle of the Nazi Party in Germany last century, as reported The Independant Wednesday.
This new coat of arms represents an eagle – the establishment’s mascot – with its wings spread wide and containing the initials “ES”, for “East Side Elementary School”. Which immediately reminded families of the Germanic eagle holding a swastika in its talons. “I don’t want to see my children wearing this on their shirts,” the father-of-two said indignantly.
