Linz has developed into one of the most exciting startup hotspots in Austria in recent years. A lively center for entrepreneurs, creatives and makers has emerged on the large area of the tobacco factory. This is where patrons meet with young business people, where inventors, researchers and creative minds develop prototypes and business plans.
Linz has the best conditions for innovative startups and companies with university education, research, funding agencies, agencies and investors. In a multi-day tour you can get to know this close-knit innovation network and its hotspots better: Linz Tourismus has put together an exciting journey through the world of entrepreneurs and the creative scene with “Start-up Your Mind”.
Tour into the future
The study trip should make you want to follow your own ideas and live them. It also offers investors, politicians, city planners and agencies new ideas, perspectives and insights. At the same time, fun shouldn’t be neglected either: whether at the e-cart race, when changing perspectives at Ars Electronica, the museum of the future, or when your own prototypes are created in one of the largest maker spaces in Europe – the Grand Garage.
Personal exchange with entrepreneurs and investors
The tour starts in the tobacco factory, which creative director Chris Müller leads through personally. In addition to the exchange with the Creative Region and the Startup300 investor network, the program also includes a visit to the impressive halls of the “Grand Garage”, one of the largest makerspaces in Europe. There are also plans for a personal exchange over good food with startups such as Bread Addict or Symflower and a visit to the high-tech incubator tech2b.
