New York, October 31, 2024, WAFA – Stéphane Dujarric, spokesperson for the United Nations, said that the medical supplies delivered 5 days ago to Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip were subjected to Israeli bombing and were completely destroyed.
Dujarric explained at a press conference on Thursday that the Israeli siege imposed on northern Gaza continues.
He added that search and rescue teams and medical teams are unable to carry out their tasks due to Israeli attacks on hospitals.
The United Nations spokesperson said hospitals in the Gaza Strip are trying to continue their work despite ongoing Israeli bombardments.
Earlier on Thursday, the Israeli occupation bombed the third floor of Kamal Adwan Hospital, causing significant damage and injuring four of its medical staff with burns.
Medical sources reported that Israeli aircraft targeted the third floor of Kamal Adwan Hospital, which contains the remaining medics, causing significant damage.
More than 1,200 citizens have been killed in the northern Gaza governorate, in light of the genocide and ethnic cleansing that has been taking place for around 27 days, as the Israeli occupation has carried out massacres and targeted centers of accommodation, homes and hospitals in Beit Lahia, Jabalia, and others, leaving dead and injured in the face of a health system exhausted by the siege and the prevention of the arrival of medical supplies to the north of the sector.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel, the occupying power, has been waging a genocidal war against the Gaza Strip, leaving more than 144,000 people dead and injured, mostly children and women, and more than 10,000 people missing, in the middle of massive destruction. The famine has killed dozens of children and elderly people in one of the world’s worst humanitarian disasters.
