Sn. BGNES

Our pensioners are no longer the poorest in Europe. The minimum pension in our country is BGN 580.57, or EUR 297.73, with lower minimum guaranteed incomes for the elderly in Ireland (EUR 110.80), Lithuania (EUR 269.77), Romania (EUR 257) .

The lowest minimum pension is in Hungary – only 74 euros, “24 Chasa” writes.

The average pension in our country is now BGN 927, or EUR 475.38. It has risen by almost BGN 693 in the last 14 years. Last year, it was BGN 749.83, and its increase in 2024 is the highest growth over the years. The most modest increase was in 2011, when it went from BGN 234.12 to BGN 236.91.

The earliest people retire in France is at 62 if they were born before September 1961. But the minimum pension is almost three times higher at 733.03 euros.

At 62, they also retire in Greece, but with 40 years of insurance. With 15 years of service, the age is 67. In Greece, the minimum pension is called national. Last year, its amount was 413.76 euros. The average pension is around 817 euros, with 749.11 euros in the private sector and 1224.45 euros in the public sector. The maximum is 12 national pensions.

In Finland, the pension age is 64 years and 3 months for persons born in 1959. The minimum pension is 976.59 euros.

And for Czechs, the age is raised until it reaches 65. In the Czech Republic, there is no fixed minimum pension, but it is equal to at least 10% of the average monthly salary for the country, which in January of this year was equal to 178 euros. Which makes the Czech pensioners poorer than the Bulgarian ones, at least those with minimum income.

In Germany, Italy and Denmark, the retirement age is 67.

Denmark even plans to gradually increase the retirement age to 69 in 2035. There are no minimum pensions either there or in Germany. In Italy, the lowest pension is 614.77 euros.

They work the longest in the Netherlands, where the retirement age is now 67. And from 2025, it will be linked to increased life expectancy. And it will go up by 8 months for every year of longer life. In 2028 and 2029, the pension age is expected to be 67 years and 3 months. And there is no minimum pension here.

The highest pension is in Luxembourg – 2,244.82 euros.

More than 1,000 euros is the minimum pension in six countries. In Austria, the minimum pension is 1217.96 euros, in Belgium it is 1738.5 euros, in Liechtenstein it is 1279 euros.
