“Our Objective: Persuading The Government To Reconsider Increasing The Retirement Age” – BBC News Arabic

France demonstrations: What happened on the tenth day of protests against the country’s retirement law?

Protests against the amendment proposed by French President Emmanuel Macron to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64 years have intensified since the government adopted the text without a vote in the country’s parliament, while motions of no confidence did not lead to the overthrow of the government.

France is witnessing a tenth day of demonstrations against pension reform, which is met with great popular opposition, in an atmosphere of growing tension and the deployment of record numbers of police officers, after previous demonstrations turned into violent protests.

Demonstrators clashed with security forces, while union members in Paris stopped the Gare de Lyon railway station by walking on the tracks.
