Our newsletter with reading recommendations for you (KW46)

Dear reader,

I’m not yet sure which I prefer: that last year no Christmas market was planned from the outset and one didn’t even have to practice anticipation or that the announced Advent markets in the local streets, like this week felt every hour, will be back again canceled. The organizers, stand operators and volunteers from the associations would certainly have opted for the former, after all, nothing is more annoying than investing useless time in something. But what do we want to do? The pandemic situation has worsened again and if this ugly virus sticks to mulled wine cups, you have to do without it. This theory of the mulled wine-loving pathogen is not followed in Darmstadt, Frankfurt and Offenbach – here you can enjoy the Advent market feeling in compliance with the well-known rules. You can find where the Christmas trees shine lonely on the marketplaces, such as in Rodgau, Seligenstadt and Münster, on our online platform: www.rheinmainverlag.de

What will be more again: test centers and, above all, vaccination offers. On some days of action in the region, you can get your first, second or third anti-corona piks without making an appointment and assume with a clear conscience that – should an infection occur – you will not also clog an intensive care unit. Incidentally, the fear of vaccination seems very irrational to me. Especially if the reason is: “You don’t know what’s in there.” Does everyone who oppose the vaccination know what’s in the medication that they may have already taken or even have to take on a daily basis? Does he examine the same before consumption after dissolution over the Bunsen burner in the test tube and extract the components? I imagine it to be very laborious and rather pointless without sufficient knowledge of biology and chemistry. So if you prefer to be vaccinated in an uncomplicated way, you can do so here, for example: https://www.rheinmainverlag.de/2021/11/16/impfaktion-der-rotary-clubs-an-der-asklepios-klinik-langen/

Which in turn is sadly decreasing in numbers: the hoopoes in Germany. No wonder that the conspicuously feathered bird is only known to most of us from the “bird wedding”. It is rarely seen in this country. And because it is threatened, it is now bird of the year. The NABU Hessen has put together useful information about him: https://www.rheinmainverlag.de/2021/11/19/wiedehopf-ist-vogel-des-jahres-2022/
I find it very interesting that this pretty bird “stinks like a polecat”. The expression “stinks like a hoopoe” was new to me. He keeps enemies at bay and from the nest. If the hoopoe scent could also keep bad viruses off the body – we would like to bravely accept that!

Just be brave if an event has just been canceled – you can still have a nice weekend! Have a chat with the media products from Rhein Main Verlag – we hope you enjoy it on behalf of the editorial team
