Our neighboring countries have tens of thousands of vaccines against monkey pox, why is Belgium lagging behind?

In France more than 11,000 have already received a first shot. This was announced by the French Minister of Health François Braun via Twitter. 42,000 doses have already been withdrawn from the stock, a further 32,000 doses “will be made available”. The country currently has nearly 2,000 confirmed infections.

Germany already has 40,000 doses available. Another 200,000 are expected by the end of September. 2,677 infections have already been registered in Germany.

Just like in our country, the Netherlands, France and Germany only vaccinate people who run a (high) risk of infection, or who show a high chance of further spreading the virus. It concerns men who have sex with men and who have many varying sexual contacts.
