To mark World Down Syndrome Day, which is celebrated on March 21, NossoShopping promotes the #DifferentesMasIguais initiative.
This campaign comes to life through the creation of an exclusive edition of socks with different colors and patterns, in partnership with the Portuguese brand CHULÉ.
“Because it is the differences that make us fantastic, the #DifferentesMasIguais initiative calls for the use of socks that are not a pair of each other, in order to highlight the beauty of diversity and tolerance towards people with Down Syndrome”, he explains. in a statement the commercial space, adding that Nosso Shopping and the other Shopping Centers, managed by the consultant, created a partnership with the Portuguese brand CHULÉ, which developed an exclusive edition of socks, where each pair has different colors and patterns. Thus, on Tuesday, the Shopping Center “challenges all customers and employees to wear these mismatched socks, showing support for this cause”.
On the same day, Nosso Shopping will receive a theatrical performance by Paulo André, a 2nd year student of the Theater and Performing Arts course at UTAD, with Down Syndrome, who despite his difference, this has not been an obstacle to doing the what you like best. This performance will take place at 4:30 pm, on the 1st floor of the Centre.
In order to involve the community in this awareness campaign, until March 21st, visitors to the Shopping Center who present the QR Code of the Nosso Shopping App will have the opportunity to receive a pair of mismatched socks from the Portuguese brand CHULÉ.
Roberto Senra, director of Nosso Shopping, reveals that “each citizen is unique and should be valued for their differentiating characteristics. We believe that we have a responsibility to the community and this initiative aims to raise awareness of the Down Syndrome population and encourage inclusion in order to build a better society, with equal opportunities for all”.

At a time when information is more important than ever, support regional and outreach journalism. Access to most VTM news is (still) free, but it is not free, journalism costs money and requires investment. This contribution is a way of directly supporting A Voz de Trás-os-Montes and its journalists. Our counterpart is independent and proximity journalism, but not only. It’s continuing to report despite all the confinement contingencies, without stopping for a single day.
