The association “Our hospital is you ”, with hospitals, user associations fighting against exclusion and charities (Aides, Emmaüs, Médecins du Monde, the Salvation Army, etc.) have decided to put a site online “notrehopital.org“And a Shared Initiative Referendum (RIP) to start collecting the pledges of citizens’ signatures and obtain the adoption of a bill”so that equal access to quality care is the basis of health policy for public hospitals ”. The goal is to obtain from the government the reforms that neither strikes, demonstrations, nor even the dedication of hospital staff during the pandemic have wrested from it.

The shared initiative referendum (RIP) is a particular form of the French legislative process, associating the electorate with a bill (i.e. a legislative text tabled by a member of Parliament), via a collection of support. Thresholds of a fifth of the members of Parliament initially, then of a tenth of the voters are necessary, in order to initiate a parliamentary examination, or failing that, a referendum.
