About 300 people took part this morning in the demonstration for the defense of the health services of the province promoted by the Special Health Commission of the Municipality of Oristano, together with CGIL, CISL and UIL and various associations. On the outdoor parking of Via Carducci, in front of the Assl offices, there are also about 40 mayors with the tricolor band representing as many municipalities.
After the introduction by Andrea Sanna, the mayor of Oristano Andrea Lutzu spoke on behalf of CGIL Cisl and Uil who made a call to the unity of all to obtain adequate health services for the province of Oristano, a territory forgotten for too long .
From the mayor Lutzu the request for the immediate reopening of the San Martino emergency room, and for the strengthening of all local and hospital services. “We need facts, Lutzu said, and concrete answers from those who have to provide them.” .
Marcello Grussu, from the Diabetics Association, also spoke on behalf of Cittadinanzattiva, Komunque donne, Associazione Thalassemici.
Grussu recalled the primacy that places the province of Oristano among those in Sardinia with the highest incidence of elderly and chronically ill population. “Patients who have undergone a drastic cut in the services dedicated to them in recent months and therefore to the right to treatment”.
The Mayor of Bosa Pier Francesco Casula recalled that he was present together with some mayors of Planargia to testify the unity of the provincial territory, as requested by the mayor of Oristano. From Casula came a controversial reference to the Provincial administration, accused of forgetting the whole territory. Hence the exhortation to forget the bell towers and continue united in the mobilization for health care that meets the needs of all municipalities, from the smallest to the largest.
The mayor of Marrubiu Andrea Santucciu who underlined the importance of the event even if organized with the limitations imposed by the Coronavirus.
The president of the Union of Municipalities of Marmillla Lino Zedda, mayor of Baradili, recalled how Marmilla is a territory forgotten by all. “The state of the Ales clinic is an example of this,” Zedda said. Livio Deligia then took the floor, representing the Civic Committee in defense of the hospital of Ghilarza. From the mayor of Fordongianus Serafino Pischedda a thank you to the health workers who are committed tirelessly and with great difficulty in ensuring assistance to all. The mayor of Cabras Andrea Abis hoped for the recovery of a shared territorial health project and applauded the health workers. Maria Carmela Marras, on behalf of the Committee on the right to health for the right to health of the province of Oristano, read the desperate message arrived from an emergency room operator in Oristano and listed the major shortcomings of the various health services. From Marras the proposal addressed to the mayors to go down to the region in Cagliari and return the tricolor bands in the event that the proposals of the territory are not answered.
Efisio Sanna, president of the Special Health Commission of the Municipality of Oristano thanked those present for participating in the event and announced the continuation of the mobilization for the defense of public health.
