Together they are the law firm “Wendelmuth Rechtsanwälte” in Falkensee: Agnes Wendelmuth and Dr. Christoph Schäfer. The two lawyers primarily deal with family law and inheritance law. There is always a lot to do. So much so that it is important to position yourself more broadly. Family lawyer Susanne Marticorena Garcia joined the team in mid-August. She is no stranger to those familiar with the firm. (ADVERTISEMENT)
Boredom does not arise in the law firm “wendelmuth Rechtsanwälte” directly above Denn’s organic market in Falkenseer Bahnhofstrasse. The law firm, which is regularly awarded by FOCUS and has now also received an award from STERN as one of the best family law firms in the country, is busy.
Attorney Dr. Christoph Schäfer: “Family law is often about classic divorce, only that in rural areas a house often has to be taken into account. It has to be clarified: Can one of the partners continue to live in the house? Or does the house have to be sold to share the money? The right of custody and access to children must also be regulated. Maintenance issues are unfortunately often resolved in court. ”
During the corona pandemic, there were many lawsuits relating to access rights. Dr. Christoph Schäfer: “The open questions were quickly clarified by the case law.”
Agnes Wendelmuth: “In inheritance law, it is often a matter of planning ahead. As lawyers, we also help with inheritance disputes and questions relating to compulsory portions. Due to specific corona problems, we have comprehensively revised and redesigned our living will. Our clients were particularly shocked by the many cases of coma and artificial respiration. Many were afraid that the machines would be turned off in an emergency, although there may still be hope. “
Either way: the work has increased so much that the firm is very busy. Dr. Christoph Schäfer: “In addition to day-to-day business, we would like to create capacities again for the further digitization of the office, the maintenance of our networks and the further development of the law firm in areas of law adjacent to our core competencies.”
It was precisely in this situation that the phone rang unexpectedly. Agnes Wendelmuth: “Susanne Marticorena Garcia was on the line. She has worked for us as a family lawyer since 2015, but moved to Hessen in 2018 because of love. Now she has been able to convince her husband to move back to Berlin. Now it starts again with us. We are very happy about the competent reinforcement and the familiar face. “
Susanne Marticorena Garcia is originally from Peru, but grew up in Berlin and studied law at the Humboldt University: “Family law is my hobby. This is where human issues and legal issues come together. I also particularly enjoy working in Brandenburg: the people here are much more relaxed than in Berlin. ”(Text: CS / Photo: Linda Köhler-Sandring)
