Bulgaria’s hopes for an Olympic title from the Paris Games are increasing from today – Boryana Kalein and Stiliyana Nikolova – begin their participation. At 11:00 a.m. Bulgarian time, the qualifications in the individual competition of rhythmic gymnastics with the first two devices will start, and at 4:00 p.m. the combinations with the other two devices will begin. The top 10 in the standings advance to the all-around final on Saturday.

At 11:47, Kimia Alizadeh, who received the right to represent Bulgaria in Paris earlier this year, will play her first match in the taekwondo tournament. Alizadeh is a bronze medalist from the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and became the first representative of Bulgaria in taekwondo at the Olympic Games. She will meet compatriot Nahid Kianichandeh (Iran) in her first match, and all bouts from the weight class until the medalist broadcast will take place tomorrow.

At 12:00, Todor Mihalev starts his participation in the modern pentathlon.

Around 12:30, Magomed Ramazanov will take to the mat in a match from the round of 16 of the Olympic freestyle wrestling tournament, category up to 86 kilograms. He will compete against Canadian Alexander Robert Moore, and if successful, there will be more matches on Friday.

After 19:15 Semyon Novikov will fight for the Olympic title in the category up to 87 kilograms in classical wrestling. He will face Iran’s Alireza Mohammadipiani.

In the evening, Bulgaria looks at the medals. At 8:30 p.m., the category up to 73 kilograms in weightlifting begins, where Bozhidar Andreev will participate. From 22:46, Javier Ibanez will box with Munarbek Seitbek Uulu for a place in the final and at least a silver medal in the category up to 57 kilograms. Ibanez has already secured a bronze award from Paris, which is the only one for our country so far.
