* The Sharjah Sports Council’s initiative to announce its strategic plan to 2031 was not on the sidelines of the Arab Cultural Forum without prior agreement, nor was it just an investment in the Palace of High Culture platform. It contains aspirations for the future, and by collaboration, supervision and testimony, I mean what the meanings of each word mean so that the plan is always under the microscope of follow-up and evaluation by partners, observers and witnesses and, God willing, we will live in rise to this responsibility with all its present burdens and future challenges.
* In our Arab world, unfortunately, “planning” appears as if it were only a title for a stage, or an indispensable step in the strategy of any company, where there is no governance, review and evaluation of what has been achieved and what has not been achieved, which has drained the planning of its meaning and has leaked. Everyone has the mistaken belief that it is nothing more than flowery talk and theorizing on paper, and this scary ghost was always present with us in our plan. while we set goals.. while we think about the axes.. while we discuss with our partners.. while we define criteria and indicators.. and finally while we formulate the phases and steps, and that is why we are committed to ourselves before anyone else other from the beginning, not to go too far and not to exaggerate, and that our dreams are within the framework of the possible and the possible, not the impossible and the impossible.
* The vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, was present with his values and what he requires in terms of objectives The infrastructure data, questionnaire results and statistics , and the plans and programs of other institutions were in our hands, not to go beyond the limits of our reality. Let us not lose our compass as we sail our ship to Sharjah as the global capital of sports culture. One of our reasons for happiness and optimism for the future was that the goal was achieved gradually with the Emirate winning the Arab Sports Capital of Culture 2022 award, and this in turn was another reason to choose the forum platform to announce strategy. Members of the Award’s Board of Trustees were guests of honor.
* One thing remains with which I preferred to end the article to keep this in mind, which is that the strategy was prepared by a working group, all its elements come from national frameworks, which means that it is “purely Emirati”, and in this is a message to importers of “strategy in a can” that the people of Mecca know their reefs best and that what’s itching at your back is your nail, and god willing, just as we formulated our strategy with our hands, we will make our future with our hands.
