Speaking during the visits, Prime Minister Üstel stated that the government has fulfilled its promises since it took office and that consultations are being held at the highest level with the Republic of Turkey regarding laws and reforms.
Stating that after the opening of the Parliament, many new legal regulations will be made for the welfare of the people, Üstel noted that the first item on their agenda will be the country’s development plan.
“The country has not had a development plan for a long time, and this will be the first item on our agenda. We will update the national physical plan to restructure and better the country. “We will discuss population and infrastructure issues in each district,” said Üstel, adding that they will hold a meeting with the relevant ministry from Turkey next week.
“OUR FIRST GOAL IS TO CREATE A DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM”
Prime Minister Üstel also stated that their first goal is to create a short, medium and long-term development program and that this program will be completed by March 2024.
Touching on the issue of e-government, Üstel said that e-government will be implemented in 2024 and the country will get rid of the cumbersome structure and move into a digital era.
“LANDS ARE DISTRIBUTED IN RURAL AREAS”
Prime Minister Üstel said that rural lands were distributed in rural areas and that they were preparing social housing projects for cities, and announced that they would announce a new loan package with a 10-year maturity in this regard. He explained that efforts will be made to increase the exponential cost of living payment from two to three times a year in 2024, and that regulations will be made regarding the salaries of those who start a job with the Immigration Law.
Referring to the road works in his speech, Üstel said that 90 percent of the expropriation problem regarding the Kyrenia eastern ring road has been resolved, and that the construction of the road will begin after it is completely resolved.
Üstel stated that the first stage work between Alsancak and Karşıyaka has been completed and the second stage of the project will start soon.
“2024 WILL BE BETTER THAN 2023”
“2024 will be better than 2023,” said Üstel, adding that the economic and financial cooperation protocols signed with the Republic of Turkey will be implemented for the welfare of the people.
Prime Minister Üstel also touched upon drug fraud in his speech and said that such illegal methods are not acceptable when there is a shortage of drugs in the country and said, “Those who do this will not get away with it.”
Regarding Ercan Airport, Üstel stated that the deficiencies at the airport will be eliminated in a short time and that they will make efforts to increase the number of passengers and aircraft.
Prime Minister Üstel pointed out that the e-visa application has started and that stricter measures will be taken regarding entry and exit to the country, and that the road map of the country will be determined by 2033. Üstel also announced that the construction of the monumental graves of the Champion Angels will start on Tuesday.
