Our favourites: Three projects by Localarchitecture in Switzerland – DETAIL

We have selected three Localarchitecture projects for you that set distinctive accents in their surroundings: a versatile community center in Le Vaud, an unconventional residential building near Lausanne and a playful boatyard on Lake Geneva.

Phoenix from the Ashes: Community Center in Le Vaud

Localarchitecture’s new multi-purpose hall was due to be completed in 2016, but the entire building was destroyed in a fire a month before it opened. Despite this setback, the architects took the opportunity to further refine the design. Now the community center is completed and inaugurated.

A folding structure learns a twist: boatyard in Cully

At first glance, Localarchitecture’s workshop building in Cully on Lake Geneva is reminiscent of a row of traditional fisherman’s cottages. However, a look into the interior reveals a dynamic roof landscape with a completely different character than its sober substructure.
