Our Commentators are an Extension of Glories: The First Lyrical Poetic Play in Saudi Arabia

Yesterday, Monday, the Saudi Theater and Performing Arts Authority announced the start of showing the lyrical poetic play entitled “Our Commentators are an Extension of Glories” in Saudi cinemas, celebrating it as the first lyrical poetic theatrical work in the Kingdom, which enjoys great production support from the Authority. The play will be shown for 6 days. Days, starting from today, September 18, until the 23rd of the same month, coinciding with the Saudi National Day celebrations.

This play, which was shown on Founding Day 2023, is inspired by the history and glories of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since its founding, by narrating the most important historical transformations within a lyrical poetic form that included matching famous poetic commentaries with the participation of a group of well-known poets, namely: Prince Abdul Rahman bin Musaed bin Abdulaziz, Jassim Al-Sahih, Fahd Afat, Fawaz Al-Laboun, Hatem Al-Zahrani, Muhammad Jabr Al-Harbi, Sultan Al-Sabhan, Sultan Al-Dhait, Yahya Rayani, and Turki Hamdan Al-Anazi. The play was also directed by the artist Amer Al-Hamoud, and the most prominent singing and theater stars participated in it.

The poet Prince Abdul Rahman bin Musaed wrote on his Instagram account: “Our commentators are an extension of glory in Saudi cinemas from September 18 to 22.”

The artist Elham Ali also commented on her Instagram account, expressing her happiness about the matter, saying: “There is nothing more beautiful news on the occasion of the Saudi National Day… the play of our female commentators is an extension of glories in cinema, starting from September 18 to 22… an epic work that is now in your hands.”

An elite group of singing stars participated in the play “Our Commentators are an Extension of Glory,” including Ayed, Omaima Talib, Fouad Abdel Wahed, Soha Al Masry, Nasser Nayef, Fahd Al Omari, Iman Al Shamaiti and Zeina Imad, in addition to the artists Rashed Al Shamrani, Aseel Omran, Ilham Ali, and Ayman Mutahhar. , Ali Al-Zahrani, Sarah Bahkeli, Saeed Al-Mana, Ahmed Al-Rashid, Afnan Kalintan, and Abdul Rahman Badr.
