A special operation of the police for the prevention of crimes related to the political rights of citizens is taking place in Ruse and the region, said the spokesperson of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Danube city, Daniela Malcheva, quoted by BTA.
She specified that the operation involves employees from all subdivisions of the regional directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Ruse, from the six regional administrations (RU) in the district, from the sectors for combating criminal and economic crime, security and territorial police, traffic police, experts, investigating police officers , as well as employees from the Zonal Gendarmerie Office. Representatives from forestry and hunting farms are included in some of the inspections.
Checkpoints have been built at the entry-exit sections of settlements, neighborhoods and hamlets. They will work in different time ranges on the territory of all RUs, Malcheva also said.
She added that the actions of law enforcement officers are also aimed at countering conventional crime, stabilizing the security environment and ensuring good public order, as well as road safety. The operation will continue throughout the day.
Perpetrators of crimes and other legal violations are searched for, motor vehicles, persons, properties and places suspected of possible activity in violation of electoral legislation, commercial establishments, pawnshops, as well as establishments where wood is offered, are checked for firewood, grocery stores, giving away goods and others, added Malcheva.
The Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs promised to announce intermediate results in the afternoon hours of the day.
